About the Diary
An entire book dedicated to vital phrases to 'point at' to assist in the care of non-English speaking patients An exciting new initiative made possible through the vision of the Victorian ANF.
The 50 languages have been carefully chosen by the largest number of speakers worldwide as well as considerations of migrant and refugee profiles.
A wide range of Nurses and Carers were surveyed to identify the most crucial questions and statements required in delivering quality care. The resulting materials were then trialled and modified where required through application of languages in our 'Nurse Diary' series.
Nurses are NOT expected to attempt to speak these languages, or pronounce these words - these phrases are to be used to point at and aid communication with nodding and shaking of heads.
In cases where the language has not been identified, the patients can self identify through the 'language identifier'. Languages are also listed by country.
All translations by registered professional translators.
